This jacket is a reproduction of the two piece denim work uniform that was issued for the US Army in the 1930's. Its predecessor was a denim pullover shirt but as the story is told it was changed due to complaints about the pullovers ripping down the front when used, and that was the end of the denim pullover in the US Army. This model was the result of the updated version, it was longer and futures a buttoned front and two lower front pockets with pocket flaps. However this denim was short lived and was replaced in the 1940's by the OD Herringbone Twill, ending the use of denim within the US Army.
This jacket is made with a great simplicity in it's design, intended to be easy to wear and long lasting and that is also what makes it such a great garment even today. This jacket is Unwashed and will shrink 2-3cm through out, meaning less wide, less long and shorter sleeves. All measurements are made on a unwashed jacket.
